Two-Year-Old Eyes...

We all see ourselves emotionally as two-year-olds who are struggling along in the world of enermous and capable adults. We know how easy it is to be confused-to be hurt. We feel inferior, little and inadequate, uncomfortable and dissatisfied with ourselves. We feel there's somebody always better than us.

Using our two-year-old eyes, we see all those intelligent and sophisticated people out there. They appear to know and understand anything. They seems to be happy and living a wonderful life.
Now we start asking ourselves "What's wrong with me?", " Why I have so many troubles?"

We start formulating our ideas about ourselves even before we are two. At the age of two, no one knows how vulnerable and worthwhile we really are. We feel little, hopeless, dependent, confused.

Each of us thinks he is the only child on the playground, the only one who feels little. The rest of the adults look effecient and effective. So we hide from the big kids, we pretend to be perfect, happy, satisfy. When we hear from other people in our lives making a perfect, adult like sounds we believe in them. We believe that they are smarter, sexier and better adjusted than us. We don't realize that this is just a smoke-screen. We don't see the cover-up that behind that smile is the feeling of fragility and looking for our approval.

Now, just keep developing your own character and cultivate the fruits of spirit. You will only get respect if you have self- respect...
